I don't have any problem with the 2010 class. All the Frances are going to be in so you might as well go ahead and get Sr and Jr in.

Richard Petty and Dale Sr are no brainers and deserve to be in the inaugural class.

Jr Johnson is a good choice not only for his racing ability but because of his success as an owner as well.

The 2011 Class, in my opinion, should be:

1. David Pearson. Over 100 wins and one of the greatest talents of all time.
2. Bobby Allison. A stellar career and a great spokesman for the sport.
3. Fireball Roberts. His career was 16 years but cut short by probably 15 years.
4. Sam Ard. One of the pioneers of the Busch Series, his career was only 3 seasons but he put up amazing numbers. In 92 starts he won 22 races and sat on the pole 24 times. He finished second in his first season and won the Championship the other two. If not for his death in 1984, his career numbers would most likely have been phenomenol.
5. Morris Metcalfe. A great person who loved the sport and devoted his life to it as Chief Scorer.

And that's the way I see it.Smile

Sam Ard did not die in 1984, Ard retired after being seriously injured in a crash at the North Carolina Speedway on October 20, 1984.
he is still alive

The 5 that made it were the 5 I would have chosen so I'm glad to see them make it.

David Pearson should be the next one in. In terms of talent behind the wheel, he was better than Richard Petty.

Bobby Allison would be the driver that should go in after Pearson.

I have a feeling that Lee Petty will get in soon, not sure he should be among the next 5.

I think some underrated/less popular yet deserving names will go in with the next class, just not sure which ones.

i am wondering if it will be another fan vote that determines the 2011 class?or a panel will elect them in?i think 4 should be elected in by a panel and 1 through fan vote....so that the fans are still a part of it since NASCAR says their success is determined by the fan.

Hey Mo, Nice to hear from you hope all is well.

Do you have to be retired from NASCAR to get nominated for the Hall of Fame?

Hey Ray-according to wikipedia: To be eligibile for Nascar Hall of Fame: former drivers must have been active for at least 10 years, and retired for at least 3 years. Non-drivers must have been involved in the industry for at least 10 years. Some candidates with shorter careers will be considered if there were special circumstances.
