Man I hate to post too much here but Ray Dunlap suggested some potentially interesting news tonight on Speed. The suggestion involved a super fantastic championship driver having lunch with a championship crew chief and they may have been discussing 2010 plans to work for a soon to be championship driver. Hmmmm. Naturally, I assume nothing is real until Barb says it is.

Let me try to clear this up for you.
The Championship Crew Chief could be Ray Evernham and the fantastic Championship driver could be no other than Greg Biffle. Perhaps these two will be working together to form a championship team. Wink

Could this be the Championship Crew Chief mentioned in the Ray Dunlap report?

You guys have cracked the code eureka Jayski is now reporting...

Rick Ren leaving KHI? We've been hearing quite regularly for the last few weeks that crew chief Rick Ren will leave Kevin Harvick Inc. at the end of the season. He's rumored to be heading to Kyle Busch's new team to serve in a general manager type role. Kyle Busch is expected to start a team fielding two or more Camping World Truck Series teams and possibly a Nationwide Series team in 2010. Rick Ren joined KHI in 2007 after a stint with Johnny Benson at the now defunct Bill Davis Racing. Since joining the team, he and Ron Hornaday Jr. have racked up 16 wins and one championship (a second looks inevitable this season). He has more than 30 years experience in NASCAR.(NASCAR Insiders.com)(11-6-2009)

Kevin Harvick says he isnt leaving!! I wouldnt think Kevin would say anything else even if he was leaving. He has a whole team working for a championship, I'm sure Kevin isnt going to say anything to cause any kind of distraction.

I think Ren is leaving. JMO

I do know that I'm cheering for KB to win everything he can the remainder of 2009 so that his 2010 stock is strong and that he might be in a good position for cash and sponsors if he's actually starting up a truck and/or Nationwide operation.

I keep thinking about Kevin blowing his top a couple of races back when Horn didn't pull over to let Harvick win (or try and win). HE WAS SCREAMING ON THE RADIO for all to hear about having the right priorities and all. I think Ren might have seen some true colors exposed there and might be open to another offer. JMO

It seems Kyle is getting his "ducks" lined up for the truck series for 2010.

A jayski blip: (Note update).

Scott to Nationwide in 2010 with Braun Racing UPDATE Scott's trucks sold to Kyle Busch? Braun Racing announced tonight on SPEED's "NASCAR Race Hub," that it will be expanding its already successful organization to field four NASCAR Nationwide Series entries in 2010. Brian Scott, who has driven a select number of races for the team this season, has been named as driver of the team's fourth Toyota Camry. Sponsor, car number as well as crew chief and personnel for Braun Racing's fourth entry will be announced in the coming weeks.(Braun Racing PR)(11-9=2009)
UPDATE: Hearing that Xpress Motorsports, owed by Brian's father Joe Scott, is selling the #16 trucks to Kyle Busch for the new truck teams Busch is putting together.(11-9-2009)
