No, they didn't. Pushing the envelope is how you win. If you get caught, you get caught. If you get away with it, you get away with it. This has always been true of sports.

It changes when your cheating endangers you or the other competitors. The rules in question here are not safety rules.

I don't think they are cheating. I think their creativity is why they are the dominant force in racing right now. If their cars are inspected and found within tolerance, it's not cheating. Hendrick has always been the team that finds speed through creative thinking. Ray Evernham was a genius at it. Now, Chad Knaus is the best at it. If NASCAR has to create rules to curb it, then so be it. But if a team is creating speed within the rules then I say go fast.

And don't think other teams aren't trying it. It's just that Hendrick spends alot more money on it than the other owners. When JB was at MB2, they had two engineers for the two car opeation. Jeff Gordon's team alone had 26.
