NASCAR announces NCWTS rule adjustments for 2010: NASCAR announced several rule adjustments to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series that will not only assist with cost control, but will continue to promote the same top-flight competition for which the series is known. Here are the amendments to the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Series rule book:
*Double-file restarts "shootout style" will be implemented to further enhance the close competition and offer additional excitement for the fans. The format will be the same as in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series. *The addition of fuel and changing of tire(s) will be permitted on the same pit stop. *During any pit stop, under yellow-or green-flag conditions, six pit crew members will be permitted in the truck servicing area. This is an increase from five pit crew members in 2009. *A new self-venting fuel-can will be introduced as an option for teams to use in addition to the conventional fuel can. *The tire lease program will remain the same with these new options available to teams. Tires will continue to be transferred between events with the same D-codes as recommended by Goodyear. *The transfer of tires between the different national series at combo events with the same D-codes will be permitted. *At track, Goodyear will provide surplus tires. Goodyear will notify teams weeks in advance of availability. *A team will run no more than two consecutive races without using an engine previously sealed by NASCAR officials. This excludes events at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway. The current rule allows teams to run no more than three consecutive races without using a sealed engine. *A SPEC engine will be introduced as an option for teams at tracks less than 1.25-miles in length. This will help to reduce costs for current teams and encourage participation from the regional series.(NASCAR PR)(10-30-2009 from Jayski |

I like double file restarts, but the best change for me is being able to fuel and change tires on the same stop.

Alan, you just beat me to the punch...I was headed over here to do the same post.
I agree with you on the refueling/tire changes on the same stop. I think the double file restarts will add excitement to the racing, however, I do worry about some of the "cowboys" with this kind of start...especially toward the end of the race. It'll make truck racing even more of a nail biting event! Nan |

All of these changes will be good if JB will be racing in 2010...otherwise...interest on my part will be low.
Looking for news of a sponsorship and race team in DEC so I can make plans to go to a few truck races and see JB in 2010 |

Ditto from me. If JB isn't racing I have better things to do with my time. |

Ditto for us Dr. Dave and Ray. Looking forward to some good reliable news for Johnny for the coming year.

Same here, I have not watched a race since Johnny stopped racing. This weekend I had taped golf and watched that. If you would have told me I'd be watching golf and not Nascar in 1998 I would have drove you to the pysh ward at my local hospital

I have turned to playing Sprint Cup Nascar Fantasy League where the choices I make (pick four drivers) motivate me to engage...even my wife wonders why I am not watching the truck races any more...we need JB in the game...Come on Sponsorship! I still think Meijer should back the hometown hero (I lived 12 years in GR, met Johnny in 1999 at the Meijer Food Fair, lived a mile from the JBFC headquarters where I met Barb) If not Meijer...how about an Amway or Steelcase sponsorship...let's build the economy and showcase GR global business...Ok...enough on my soapbox
